2 وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ

wa-idzaa alkawaakibu intatsarath

dan apabila bintang-bintang jatuh berserakan,

And when the stars fall, scattering,

3 وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

wa-idzaa albihaaru fujjirath

dan apabila lautan menjadikan meluap,

And when the seas are erupted

4 وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

wa-idzaa alqubuuru bu'tsirath

dan apabila kuburan-kuburan dibongkar,

And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,

5 عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

'alimat nafsun maa qaddamat wa-akhkharath

maka tiap-tiap jiwa akan mengetahui apa yang telah dikerjakan dan yang dilalaikannya.

A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

6 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

yaa ayyuhaa al-insaanu maa gharraka birabbika alkariimi

Hai manusia, apakah yang telah memperdayakan kamu (berbuat durhaka) terhadap Tuhanmu Yang Maha Pemurah.

O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

7 ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

alladzii khalaqaka fasawwaaka fa'adalaka

Yang telah menciptakan kamu lalu menyempurnakan kejadianmu dan menjadikan (susunan tubuh)mu seimbang,

Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

8 فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ

fii ayyi shuuratin maa syaa-a rakkabaka

dalam bentuk apa saja yang Dia kehendaki, Dia menyusun tubuhmu.

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

9 كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ

kallaa bal tukadzdzibuuna bialddiini

Bukan hanya durhaka saja, bahkan kamu mendustakan hari pembalasan.

No! But you deny the Recompense.

10 وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ

wa-inna 'alaykum lahaafizhiina

Padahal sesungguhnya bagi kamu ada (malaikat-malaikat) yang mengawasi (pekerjaanmu),

And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

11 كِرَامًا كَٰتِبِينَ

kiraaman kaatibiina

yang mulia (di sisi Allah) dan mencatat (pekerjaan-pekerjaanmu itu),

Noble and recording;

12 يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

ya'lamuuna maa taf'aluuna

mereka mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

They know whatever you do.

13 إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ

inna al-abraara lafii na'iimin

Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang banyak berbakti benar-benar berada dalam surga yang penuh kenikmatan,

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,

14 وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ

wa-inna alfujjaara lafii jahiimin

dan sesungguhnya orang-orang yang durhaka benar-benar berada dalam neraka.

And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

15 يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

yashlawnahaa yawma alddiini

Mereka masuk ke dalamnya pada hari pembalasan.

They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

16 وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ

wamaa hum 'anhaa bighaa-ibiina

Dan mereka sekali-kali tidak dapat keluar dari neraka itu.

And never therefrom will they be absent.

17 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

wamaa adraaka maa yawmu alddiini

Tahukah kamu apakah hari pembalasan itu?

And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

18 ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

tsumma maa adraaka maa yawmu alddiini

Sekali lagi, tahukah kamu apakah hari pembalasan itu?

Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

19 يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ

yawma laa tamliku nafsun linafsin syay-an waal-amru yawma-idzin lillaahi

(Yaitu) hari (ketika) seseorang tidak berdaya sedikitpun untuk menolong orang lain. Dan segala urusan pada hari itu dalam kekuasaan Allah.

It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
