1 نٓ ۚ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ

nuun waalqalami wamaa yasthuruuna

Nun, demi kalam dan apa yang mereka tulis,

Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,

2 مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ

maa anta bini'mati rabbika bimajnuunin

berkat nikmat Tuhanmu kamu (Muhammad) sekali-kali bukan orang gila.

You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

3 وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ

wa-inna laka la-ajran ghayra mamnuunin

Dan sesungguhnya bagi kamu benar-benar pahala yang besar yang tidak putus-putusnya.

And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.

4 وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

wa-innaka la'alaa khuluqin 'azhiimin

Dan sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar berbudi pekerti yang agung.

And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

5 فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ

fasatubshiru wayubshiruuna

Maka kelak kamu akan melihat dan mereka (orang-orang kafir)pun akan melihat,

So you will see and they will see

6 بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ

bi-ayyikumu almaftuunu

siapa di antara kamu yang gila.

Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].

7 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ

inna rabbaka huwa a'lamu biman dhalla 'an sabiilihi wahuwa a'lamu bialmuhtadiina

Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu, Dialah Yang Paling Mengetahui siapa yang sesat dari jalan-Nya; dan Dialah Yang Paling Mengetahui orang-orang yang mendapat petunjuk.

Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

8 فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

falaa tuthi'i almukadzdzibiina

Maka janganlah kamu ikuti orang-orang yang mendustakan (ayat-ayat Allah).

Then do not obey the deniers.

9 وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ

wadduu law tudhinu fayudhinuuna

Maka mereka menginginkan supaya kamu bersikap lunak lalu mereka bersikap lunak (pula kepadamu).

They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].

10 وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ

walaa tuthi' kulla hallaafin mahiinin

Dan janganlah kamu ikuti setiap orang yang banyak bersumpah lagi hina,

And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer

11 هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍ

hammaazin masysyaa-in binamiimin

yang banyak mencela, yang kian ke mari menghambur fitnah,

[And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -

12 مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

mannaa'in lilkhayri mu'tadin atsiimin

yang banyak menghalangi perbuatan baik, yang melampaui batas lagi banyak dosa,

A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,

13 عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ

'utullin ba'da dzaalika zaniimin

yang kaku kasar, selain dari itu, yang terkenal kejahatannya,

Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.

14 أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ

an kaana dzaa maalin wabaniina

karena dia mempunyai (banyak) harta dan anak.

Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,

15 إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

idzaa tutlaa 'alayhi aayaatunaa qaala asaathiiru al-awwaliina

Apabila dibacakan kepadanya ayat-ayat Kami, ia berkata: "(Ini adalah) dongeng-dongengan orang-orang dahulu kala".

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

16 سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْخُرْطُومِ

sanasimuhu 'alaa alkhurthuumi

Kelak akan Kami beri tanda dia di belalai(nya).

We will brand him upon the snout.

17 إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ

innaa balawnaahum kamaa balawnaa ash-haaba aljannati idz aqsamuu layashrimunnahaa mushbihiina

Sesungguhnya Kami telah mencobai mereka (musyrikin Mekah) sebagaimana Kami telah mencobai pemilik-pemilik kebun, ketika mereka bersumpah bahwa mereka sungguh-sungguh akanmemetik (hasil)nya di pagi hari,

Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning

19 فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ

fathaafa 'alayhaa thaa-ifun min rabbika wahum naa-imuuna

lalu kebun itu diliputi malapetaka (yang datang) dari Tuhanmu ketika mereka sedang tidur,

So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.

20 فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ

fa-ashbahat kaalshshariimi

maka jadilah kebun itu hitam seperti malam yang gelap gulita.

And it became as though reaped.

21 فَتَنَادَوْا۟ مُصْبِحِينَ

fatanaadaw mushbihiina

lalu mereka panggil memanggil di pagi hari:

And they called one another at morning,

22 أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ

ani ighduu 'alaa hartsikum in kuntum shaarimiina

"Pergilah diwaktu pagi (ini) ke kebunmu jika kamu hendak memetik buahnya".

[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."

23 فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ

fainthalaquu wahum yatakhaafatuuna

Maka pergilah mereka saling berbisik-bisik.

So they set out, while lowering their voices,

24 أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌ

an laa yadkhulannahaa alyawma 'alaykum miskiinun

"Pada hari ini janganlah ada seorang miskinpun masuk ke dalam kebunmu".

[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."

25 وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَٰدِرِينَ

waghadaw 'alaa hardin qaadiriina

Dan berangkatlah mereka di pagi hari dengan niat menghalangi (orang-orang miskin) padahal mereka (menolongnya).

And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.

26 فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ

falammaa ra-awhaa qaaluu innaa ladaalluuna

Tatkala mereka melihat kebun itu, mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya kita benar-benar orang-orang yang sesat (jalan),

But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;

27 بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ

bal nahnu mahruumuuna

bahkan kita dihalangi (dari memperoleh hasilnya)".

Rather, we have been deprived."

28 قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

qaala awsathuhum alam aqul lakum lawlaa tusabbihuuna

Berkatalah seorang yang paling baik pikirannya di antara mereka: "Bukankah aku telah mengatakan kepadamu, hendaklah kamu bertasbih (kepada Tuhanmu)?"

The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' "

29 قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

qaaluu subhaana rabbinaa innaa kunnaa zhaalimiina

Mereka mengucapkan: "Maha Suci Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya kami adalah orang-orang yang zalim".

They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."

30 فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ

fa-aqbala ba'dhuhum 'alaa ba'dhin yatalaawamuuna

Lalu sebahagian mereka menghadapi sebahagian yang lain seraya cela mencela.

Then they approached one another, blaming each other.

31 قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ

qaaluu yaa waylanaa innaa kunnaa thaaghiina

Mereka berkata: "Aduhai celakalah kita; sesungguhnya kita ini adalah orang-orang yang melampaui batas".

They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.

32 عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ

'asaa rabbunaa an yubdilanaa khayran minhaa innaa ilaa rabbinaa raaghibuuna

Mudah-mudahan Tuhan kita memberikan ganti kepada kita dengan (kebun) yang lebih baik daripada itu; sesungguhnya kita mengharapkan ampunan dari Tuhan kita.

Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."

33 كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

kadzaalika al'adzaabu wala'adzaabu al-aakhirati akbaru law kaanuu ya'lamuuna

Seperti itulah azab (dunia). Dan sesungguhnya azab akhirat lebih besar jika mereka mengetahui.

Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.

34 إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

inna lilmuttaqiina 'inda rabbihim jannaati alnna'iimi

Sesungguhnya bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa (disediakan) surga-surga yang penuh kenikmatan di sisi Tuhannya.

Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.

35 أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

afanaj'alu almuslimiina kaalmujrimiina

Maka apakah patut Kami menjadikan orang-orang Islam itu sama dengan orang-orang yang berdosa (orang kafir)?

Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?

36 مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

maa lakum kayfa tahkumuuna

Atau adakah kamu (berbuat demikian): bagaimanakah kamu mengambil keputusan?

What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?

37 أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَٰبٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ

am lakum kitaabun fiihi tadrusuuna

Atau adakah kamu mempunyai sebuah kitab (yang diturunkan Allah) yang kamu membacanya?,

Or do you have a scripture in which you learn

38 إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ

inna lakum fiihi lamaa takhayyaruuna

bahwa di dalamnya kamu benar-benar boleh memilih apa yang kamu sukai untukmu.

That indeed for you is whatever you choose?

39 أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَٰنٌ عَلَيْنَا بَٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ

am lakum aymaanun 'alaynaa baalighatun ilaa yawmi alqiyaamati inna lakum lamaa tahkumuuna

Atau apakah kamu memperoleh janji yang diperkuat dengan sumpah dari Kami, yang tetap berlaku sampai hari kiamat; sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar dapat mengambil keputusan (sekehendakmu)?

Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?

40 سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ

salhum ayyuhum bidzaalika za'iimun

Tanyakanlah kepada mereka: "Siapakah di antara mereka yang bertanggung jawab terhadap keputusan yang diambil itu?"

Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.

41 أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ

am lahum syurakaau falya/tuu bisyurakaa-ihim in kaanuu shaadiqiina

Atau apakah mereka mempunyai sekutu-sekutu? Maka hendaklah mereka mendatangkan sekutu-sekutunya jika mereka adalah orang-orang yang benar.

Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.

42 يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

yawma yuksyafu 'an saaqin wayud'awna ilaa alssujuudi falaa yastathii'uuna

Pada hari betis disingkapkan dan mereka dipanggil untuk bersujud; maka mereka tidak kuasa,

The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,

43 خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَٰلِمُونَ

khaasyi'atan abshaaruhum tarhaquhum dzillatun waqad kaanuu yud'awna ilaa alssujuudi wahum saalimuuna

(dalam keadaan) pandangan mereka tunduk ke bawah, lagi mereka diliputi kehinaan. Dan sesungguhnya mereka dahulu (di dunia) diseru untuk bersujud, dan mereka dalam keadaan sejahtera.

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.

44 فَذَرْنِى وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

fadzarnii waman yukadzdzibu bihaadzaa alhadiitsi sanastadrijuhum min haytsu laa ya'lamuuna

Maka serahkanlah (ya Muhammad) kepada-Ku (urusan) orang-orang yang mendustakan perkataan ini (Al Quran). Nanti Kami akan menarik mereka dengan berangsur-angsur (ke arah kebinasaan) dari arah yang tidak mereka ketahui,

So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.

45 وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ

waumlii lahum inna kaydii matiinun

dan Aku memberi tangguh kepada mereka. Sesungguhnya rencana-Ku amat tangguh.

And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.

46 أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ

am tas-aluhum ajran fahum min maghramin mutsqaluuna

Apakah kamu meminta upah kepada mereka, lalu mereka diberati dengan hutang?

Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

47 أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ

am 'indahumu alghaybu fahum yaktubuuna

Ataukah ada pada mereka ilmu tentang yang ghaib lalu mereka menulis (padanya apa yang mereka tetapkan)?

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

48 فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ

faishbir lihukmi rabbika walaa takun kashaahibi alhuuti idz naadaa wahuwa makzhuumun

Maka bersabarlah kamu (hai Muhammad) terhadap ketetapan Tuhanmu, dan janganlah kamu seperti orang yang berada dalam (perut) ikan ketika ia berdoa sedang ia dalam keadaan marah (kepada kaumnya).

Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

49 لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ

lawlaa an tadaarakahu ni'matun min rabbihi lanubidza bial'araa-i wahuwa madzmuumun

Kalau sekiranya ia tidak segera mendapat nikmat dari Tuhannya, benar-benar ia dicampakkan ke tanah tandus dalam keadaan tercela.

If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.

50 فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

faijtabaahu rabbuhu faja'alahu mina alshshaalihiina

Lalu Tuhannya memilihnya dan menjadikannya termasuk orang-orang yang saleh.

And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.

51 وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌ

wa-in yakaadu alladziina kafaruu layuzliquunaka bi-abshaarihim lammaa sami'uu aldzdzikra wayaquuluuna innahu lamajnuunun

Dan sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir itu benar-benar hampir menggelincirkan kamu dengan pandangan mereka, tatkala mereka mendengar Al Quran dan mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya ia (Muhammad) benar-benar orang yang gila".

And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."

52 وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

wamaa huwa illaa dzikrun lil'aalamiina

Dan Al Quran itu tidak lain hanyalah peringatan bagi seluruh umat.

But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.
